Camp Curtin Y Had a Packed House for Their October Family Night

The Sisters Helping Sisters and Man Up programs hosted a packed house during their October Family Night. Family members, friends, JPO, and Children & Youth came to show their support for current students and recent graduates.

Attendees filled their stomachs with Executive Director, Jamien Harvey’s, chili and Program Director, Kyla Crawford’s, grilled chicken salad. After hearing words from Prevention Specialist, Anjel Payne, and Sports Coordinator, Frank Wilson, Man Up graduate, Ajaquan Jackson spoke on how the program gave him a second chance. Current mentee, Daquwan Tucker, followed by saying, “…my real father has never been around and Coach Frank is like a father figure to me. This program is showing me how to …Man up.” The night ended with words of inspiration from our guest speaker, Gary Stackfield, who spoke on how making the right decisions helped him to overcome life’s trials and tribulations.
