Frequently Asked Questions
How can I sign up to be a member? What about programs?
Membership can be done in person at your closest branch (home branch) or online at ymcaharrisburg.org/join. If you sign up online, you will receive your keycard and additional information during your first visit.
To register for programs, you must create an account. If you do not have a member account, you can create a free community guest account. For more information about program registration (swim lessons, youth sports, small group training, etc), please contact your home branch.
Can I bring a guest?
Yes! A guest’s first visit to the YMCA is free. For future visits, guests must pay the branch fee ($10 per adult per day, $6 per youth per day) for guest privileges; individuals may visit our YMCA facilities as a guest a maximum of three (3) times per calendar year. For the safety of our
members, all guests must be accompanied by an active member and present a valid photo ID for each visit. Adult & Household Members may bring one (1) guest per visit and as many guests as they like throughout the calendar year. All guests are required to adhere to the YMCA Code
of Conduct. Noncompliance may result in removal of guest privileges. Every guest will be screened through the national sex offender registry to prevent access by registered sex offenders. To read our full guest policy, click below.
Can my teenager(s) participate in Group Fitness Classes?
Members aged 15 years and older are eligible to participate in all group fitness classes. Members 12-14 may participate with pre-approval from the Group Exercise Coordinator, provided they are accompanied by an adult (18 years or older) participating in the class. Please contact your branch before attending class with a teen member.
