Physical fitness is one of the best things we can do for our bodies! At the Y, we’re for Healthy Living. This means improving the nation’s health and well-being by providing resources and guidance to maintain or improve physical fitness, health, and wellness. With a variety of options for you, the Y is the best place to not only work out and stay active but to experience all sides of the fitness universe!

Group Classes

Fitness programs at the Harrisburg Area YMCA allow you to work at your own pace or challenge yourself, every day. Our group class settings allow you to meet new people or come with a friend and keep one another accountable. It’s actually proven – one study found that 95% of those who started a weight loss program with friends completed the program, versus a 76% completion rate for those who did it alone. Group exercise helps us push ourselves even harder!

Beginner and advanced classes are available for a variety of levels and abilities. With a class for every interest, you can explore new forms of exercise or continue with what you’re most comfortable with! Our classes are led by certified instructors who can help you maximize your time in the gym. Each class instructor will provide modifications and will help you move at your own pace.

Fitness Centers and Personal Training Programs

Most of our area locations offer fully-equipped wellness centers, aquatics centers, and gymnasiums to meet your needs. We offer personal training with a certified Y Personal Trainer, a huge selection of group exercise and small group training classes, as well as a variety of sports leagues and camps for kids.
