After 18 years, Tom Beckley is retiring from the Y. Many of you know Tom as the friendly, jovial man at the OSP Desk on Monday mornings. But fewer are aware of just how many jobs Tom has held with the West Shore Y over the years. Starting in 1997 as a Tour Guide, he went on to work in our Welcome Center, OSP Desk, Genealogy Club, and was even a bus driver for our child care program.
Upon retirement Tom found himself wanting to give back to his community, so he started his volunteer career at the Y. He cherishes the many friendships he built over the years and he notes it is hard to go somewhere in this area without seeing a Y member. And even though Tom will be missed by the staff and the many members he has come in contact with over the years, we wish him nothing but the best. We look forward to seeing him from time to time as he continues his exercise routine and socializing with the morning coffee crew.
