On October 4th, the Northern Dauphin County YMCA held it’s Annual Golf Outing at Lykens Valley Golf Course in Millersburg, PA. The golf outing is one of the largest fundraisers for the branch. This year, over 80 golfers participated in the outing and over 40 local business’ sponsored the event. The NDCY would like to thank Troutman’s Cheverolet Buick GMC, from Millersburg, PA for their Major Sponsorship.
During the outing various fundraisers were conducted, such as a putting contest and a live auction. Susquehanna Bank even volunteered their time at the outing by offering a fun photo booth where golfers could dress up at hole 13 to have their foursome photographed. Concluding the day was a live auction steered by Reuben Smucker, of Smucker’s Masonary and Steven Stoltzfus, of Goldglo Landscapes. The golf outing raised over $9,500. These proceeds provide direct scholarships for low income youth who attend summer camps and day care programs and financial assistance for youth who participate in all YMCA programs. As the nation’s leading nonprofit for youth development, healthy living and social responsibility, the Y uses these proceeds to make a meaningful, enduring impact right in the community.
