The Harrisburg Area YMCA offers special memberships that allow various individuals to have access to our services at special rates! Whether you are a military family in need of assistance, a college student looking to join for the summer, or a family who makes under $50,000 a year, we offer affordable membership rates to help you accomplish your health goals at the Y.
At the Y, we understand that every season of life comes with its own challenges, and we want to make it easier for you to take care of yourself and your loved ones. These membership options are one of the many ways we strive to welcome everyone into our community, no matter their circumstances. Switch up your fitness routine with FitOn: a digital platform that gives you access to fitness studios and gyms across the nation all under one account.
RenewActive®
Staying active is not only good for your body, but it’s also good for your mind. Renew Active® is a fitness program designed for both, with the goal of helping Medicare members reach fitness goals and stimulate their brains. The program is available with select UnitedHealthcare Medicare Advantage plans.
SilverSneakers®
SilverSneakers® includes unlimited access to every branch of the Harrisburg Area YMCA. That’s a gym membership at four locations with unrestricted access to every location. The YMCA also offers fitness classes for all abilities led by our certified instructors.
Silver&Fit®
The Silver&Fit® exercise and healthy aging program is provided by American Specialty Health. You may have access to Silver&Fit® as a Medicare beneficiary through your insurance!
Corporate Memberships
The YMCA is very proud of the many companies that invest in the good health of their employees by endorsing and supporting the YMCA Corporate Membership Program. Ten (10) or more employees from a company may receive a 10% reduction on membership when they join the Harrisburg Area YMCA. At least ten employees must maintain their memberships in the Harrisburg Area YMCA to retain the discounted fee.

College Memberships
Seasonal Promotion
Select YMCA branches offer 3-month, summer-only College Student Memberships designed to give college students the opportunity to stay connected to a fitness center when home for the summer. Your membership package will begin the date of your registration and terminate exactly 3 months from that date. For $109, this membership will include:
- Unlimited classes*
- Pool access
- Wellness Centers
- Free weights and separate Weight Rooms
- Access to all Harrisburg Area YMCA branches
To apply for this membership, please contact your local YMCA today! Applications must be submitted by June 30 to register for this special promotion. All prices listed on this page are subject to change without notice. The Harrisburg Area YMCA does not guarantee that these rates are currently offered at any branch. Military One Source
We understand that military families are under enormous strain. As a member of the Y, you and your family can spend quality time together and enjoy fun activities in a warm, supportive environment. It’s also a place to meet other military families who can relate to your unique situation.
Who is eligible for membership?
Title 10 personnel are eligible for a Y membership, including:
- Family members of deployed National Guard and Reservists
- Active Duty Independent Duty personnel and their families
- Relocated spouse/dependent children of deployed Active Duty personnel
Note: The Relocated Spouse category supports families/spouse who relocate away from an installation/duty station while the active duty service member is deployed.
All of the following criteria must be met:
- The service member is on active duty.
- The service member is DEPLOYED for a minimum of six months (on deployment orders— NOT unaccompanied orders, NOT geographic bachelors).
- The spouse has relocated away from the military installation where the service member is assigned (most often, back home near family).
- Wounded service members assigned to a Community Based Warrior in Transition Unit (CBWTU)

The Harrisburg Area YMCA opens its doors to special communities to help their members achieve their full potential. We work to strengthen the communities we serve by collaborating with other nonprofit and human service organizations to offer special memberships when appropriate our mission.
