Youth Volleyball Programs

Looking to develop your volleyball skills in a fun and encouraging climate? Learn the basic rules and skill work in the game of volleyball at the Harrisburg Area YMCA in our Developmental Volleyball program! Our programs are co-ed, and ages will vary depending on the branch program you select. Youth will practice an array of drills and play games. The program is a great way to show the sport of volleyball to youth who are keen to play. Alternatively, we also offer Junior Volleyball Club, a more competitive league.

Skills Developed:

This class will help to build skills including serving, forearm passing, setting, hitting, and blocking. This program emphasizes skill work, proper mechanics, and basics to give the players a solid foundation of the sport. It addresses position work as well as game-play understanding.

Friendship YMCA: Youth Volleyball League

Our in-house Youth Volleyball League is a great way to expand and hone your volleyball skills in a fun and encouraging climate! Participants will continue to build on their skills while experiencing competitive gameplay. In addition to developing winning tactics and strategies, playing in our league is fun and exciting!

For youth ages 12-16. The coaching staff recommends that players have at least one year of training and/or playing experience.

Friendship YMCA: Developmental Volleyball

For beginners and new players! Skill work and fundamentals are the focus during this 8-week Developmental Volleyball Program. Position work will be addressed as well as the understanding of game play. Participants will also learn blocking, hitting, serving, passing, and setting! For ages 9-15.

Friendship YMCA: Intermediate Volleyball

Intermediate Volleyball is a great way to develop your volleyball skills in a fun and encouraging climate! We will continue to build on your basic skills while learning volleyball tactics and strategy during gameplay. This program will get you ready for the next level! For ages 12-16.

Northern Dauphin County YMCA: Youth Volleyball League

Our in-house Youth Volleyball League is a great way to expand and hone your volleyball skills in a fun and encouraging climate! Shirts included. For youth entering grades 5-8.
