2025-26 Volleyball Club
The Friendship YMCA in Lower Paxton Township is excited to launch a brand-new developmental travel volleyball program! Designed for girls ages 10-15, this program offers a great introduction to competitive volleyball in a supportive and skill-focused environment.
The season runs from December through March and includes team tryouts, two weekly team practice and weekend tournaments. Led by the experienced and passionate coaching staff at the Friendship YMCA, players will focus on building strong fundamentals and team skills to grow and succeed on the court.
The Friendship YMCA is a member of the Middle Atlantic AAU Region. This program allows players to practice up to 3 hours per week and participate in various tournaments held on Saturdays and/or Sundays. Junior Volleyball Club offers young athletes the opportunity to develop skills, play, and compete in volleyball. Explore below to access forms, dates, and additional information about the programs.

2025-26 Season Fees
Below is a list of all the club season fees. There are NO hidden costs and all fees are listed.
Tryout Registration Fees:
- Pre-Registered: $40
- Proof of a current AAU membership is required for tryouts.
The pre-registration tryout deadline is:
- U12-U14: October 16, 2025
- U15: October 16, 2025
- Any registration past the deadline will be $55.

2025-26 Tryout Information
Our tryouts are designed to evaluate each athlete’s individual skills, athletic ability, and potential to grow as a team player. Participants will go through a variety of drills that highlight key areas such as serving, passing, setting, lateral movement, vertical reach, and responsiveness to coaching.
We’ll also observe how athletes perform in simulated game scenarios, with attention to both offensive and defensive strategies as well as how they manage pressure during competitive moments.
After tryouts, our coaching staff will meet to review each athlete’s performance. While the full coaching team contributes to the evaluation process, final roster decisions are made by the head coach.
Tryout Checklist
- Register for tryouts (you may register in person, online, or over the phone).
- Register with AAU (see instructions and information below). Proof of AAU registration must be provided at tryouts.
- Complete all necessary forms (must be turned in at or before tryouts).

- Proof of AAU registration (AAU Membership card and proof of payment – you can print this immediately after registering. If you did not do this upon registration, log into your AAU account and print membership.)
AAU Registration
All participants wishing to try out for the Friendship YMCA Junior Volleyball Club must have an active AAU membership. For those with a current AAU membership (expires 8/31/25), please bring proof of your active membership. For those who do not yet have an AAU membership, please visit www.aausports.org to register and bring proof of your membership to tryouts.
Once teams are established and your athlete accepts an offer to play for the West Shore Y, an updated membership will be required (effective September 1st) and you will be directed to affiliate with the West Shore YMCA.
