Corporate Employee Group Membership
The YMCA is very proud of the many companies who invest in the good health of their employees through endorsing and supporting the YMCA Corporate Membership Program. Five or more employees from a company may receive a 10% reduction on membership when they join the Harrisburg Area YMCA. At least five employees must maintain their memberships in the Harrisburg Area YMCA to retain the discounted fee.

We understand that military families are under enormous strain. As a member of the Y, you and your family can spend quality time together and enjoy fun activities in a warm, supportive environment. It’s also a place to meet other military families who can relate to your unique situation.
Who is eligible for membership?
Title 10 personnel are eligible for a Y membership, including:
- Family members of deployed National Guard and Reservists
- Active Duty Independent Duty personnel and their families
- Relocated spouse/dependent children of deployed Active Duty personnel
Note: The Relocated Spouse category supports families/spouse who relocate away from an installation/duty station while the active duty service member is deployed.
All of the following criteria must be met:
- The service member is on active duty.
- The service member is DEPLOYED for a minimum of six months (on deployment orders— NOT unaccompanied orders, NOT geographic bachelors).
- The spouse has relocated away from the military installation where the service member is assigned (most often, back home near family).
- Wounded service members assigned to a Community Based Warrior in Transition Unit (CBWTU)

- Residents of Pinnacle Health, Harrisburg Hospital
- The United Methodist Home for Children
SilverSneakers® is a fitness program for seniors that’s helping millions of people on Medicare defy the odds, shatter stereotypes, and answer every challenge with, “I can do this!” SilverSneakers® includes unlimited access to every branch of the Harrisburg Area YMCA. That’s a gym membership at four locations with unrestricted access to every location. The YMCA also offers fitness classes for all abilities led by our certified instructors.

Open Doors Membership
As a not-for-profit dedicated to inclusion and diversity, the East Shore Branch found our current rates were not affordable for many of our neighbors: Adults with incomes under $31,000 and families with incomes under $50,000.
In order to fulfill our commitment to make the Y available to all in our community who are/would like to be Y members, we created Open Doors rates of $27.99 for individuals and $44.99 for families, with a $2 per month fee for those who opt for e-pay. See our Frequently Asked Questions below to learn more about this service.
Is my membership limited in any way?
You can enjoy full membership privileges at the East Shore Branch, including free Y-Fit sessions, free fitness classes (excluding TRX), discounted programming, and five free visitor passes. Your Open Doors membership is a branch only membership.
What if I still can’t afford the membership fees?
We will continue to offer scholarships, for those who qualify, to provide additional financial support for their East Shore YMCA membership. We encourage you to apply.
Am I eligible for any further discounts?
Open Doors memberships are not eligible for further discounts.
How do I become eligible for the Open Doors membership?
When you enroll you immediately become eligible for the Open Doors membership. There is no waiting period. There are no interviews. Just complete the standard membership application and a very brief Addendum, outlining your sources of income. You will need to provide proof of income (W-2 or tax return in most cases). If you do not have documentation at the time of enrollment, you will have 30 days within which to present such documentation. If you do not provide the requisite documentation within 30 days, we will change your membership classification to the most appropriate non-Open Doors category and adjust your rate accordingly.
Will my membership renew automatically?
We will request updated proof of income before the annual anniversary of your membership. If you fail to provide such updated proof of income we reserve the right to change your membership type from Open Doors to the appropriate category.
What are the payment options?
An individual may pay $335.88 (12x$27.99) on an annual basis. A household may pay $539.88 ($44.99 x 12) on an annual basis. You may also elect to have your membership fee deducted automatically from your checking or savings account, or credit card, on the 15th of each month. This e-pay service costs $2 per month.
Am I able to purchase the Optional Service Package?
The Optional Service Package offers lockers, free parking tokens and other locker room amenities. You may subscribe to this package for $17 per month for an individual or $22 per month for a family (OSP 1) and $27 for a family (OSP 2).
