Pink Ribbon Breast Cancer Survivor Program
The Harrisburg Area YMCA desires to see everyone living a full, healthy life. That’s why we have provided a post-operative workout enhancing recovery program called the Pink Ribbon Program.
This new program is the only post-operative program created specifically for breast-cancer patients. The Pink Ribbon Program has been designed to enhance recovery for breast cancer patients by helping to stretch and strengthen the shoulders, chest, and back. Through these exercises, patients can improve their range of motion and strength to those areas most affected by breast cancer surgery, treatment, and re-construction.
The program offers a variety of benefits to participants, including alleviating pain and swelling, decreasing stress and anxiety, assisting in restoring posture, improving functional ability and quality of life, regaining strength and mobility in affected shoulders and arms, promoting lymphatic drainage, and helping to prevent Lymphedema.
The Pink Ribbon Program is currently available at the Northern Dauphin County YMCA branch during select times throughout the year. If you or someone you know has experienced breast cancer surgery and wishes to regain their strength and well-being, this program is a great place to start.
