Senior Healthy Living and Fitness Programs
At the Y, we’re for healthy living for all ages! The Harrisburg Area YMCA cares about your well-being, which is why we love providing support systems to our neighbors that welcome, celebrate, and connect members of our community together. Our Active Older Adults (AOA) clubs and modified fitness classes for seniors will provide you with opportunities to interact socially while building strength and endurance.
These groups are available at both our West Shore East Shore, and Northern Dauphin County locations. Older adults and seniors get together throughout the year to exercise, socialize and have fun. All adults are welcome to join a variety of programs for our seniors, regardless of age. Classes include T’ai Chi, Zumba Gold, Sit and Be Fit, Water Fitness programs, and much more.
Not only do we provide fitness programs for seniors in the community, but offer social programs, as well. Seniors can participate in both our Active Older Adults Program and modified fitness classes that help our older adults connect with new and old friends, strengthen their bodies, and learn new low-impact techniques to stay healthy. Whether programs are on land or in water, classes are always guaranteed to be safe and fun!
