Flexibility is important to maintaining a fluid exercise routine in addition to maintaining a range of motion for one’s joints. Want to have the flexibility and core stability that a dancer has? Our new group exercise Barre class can help you get there!
Barre is a fitness program that combines the movements of Pilates, Yoga, and Ballet to give you longer, leaner, and stronger muscles in your legs, arms, and back. Our Barre classes focus on mild cardiovascular movements, but primarily focus on alignment, posture, and stretching. Additionally, Barre will help define abdominal muscles, core strength, and lower body. In this class, you will increase stability by using isometric exercises that incorporate equipment like light dumbbells, flat resistance bands, mini-balls, and more.
This low-impact workout can help give you the flexibility of a Ballet dancer without the risk of injury. Don’t miss out on this fun and relaxing group fitness class available at our East Shore and West Shore YMCA branches.
