The Harrisburg Area YMCA seeks to provide a variety of dance programs that incorporate different cultures and styles. The Timbuk fitness class is based on traditional African dances that use simple movements to get you energized!
While expressing traditional African dances, the class also features intense body-sculpting and cardio training exercises. Various movements can help tone your core muscles, arms, and legs. The class will leave its dancers feeling uplifted, energized, and dripping with sweat when they’re finished. The routines utilized in the class are open to a variety of skill levels, from beginner to advanced dancer!
In combination with music and movements, the Timbuk class seeks to focus not only on fitness and exercise, but on the cultural heritage of the dance. Our fitness instructors at the Harrisburg Area YMCA seek to create a strong, comfortable, and confident environment for our participants to take part in. Modifications are available if needed throughout the class.
