Aquacize Water Fitness Classes

The YMCA is here for your fitness needs both in and out of the water! Looking for a great workout with little to no impact on your joints? Our Aquacize classes are perfect for you.


Aquacize is a beginner to intermediate level water fitness class and is low impact to moderate pace. This water exercise class includes warm up, aerobic training, and cool down, along with strength, toning and flexibility in shallow water. All equipment is provided for this program and stretching, muscle toning, and aerobic exercises are done with the use of fitness equipment.

The class helps participants strengthen their lungs, tone their muscles, and improve their pliability in the water. Workouts practiced during the class are low-intensity and allow for modifications for a variety of levels. Class is perfect for the beginner athlete who is interested in the low-impact nature of water fitness programs.

Aquacize II

Aquacize II is an intermediate to advanced level water fitness class that is works at a higher pace. This program offers mid-to-high cardio aerobic workouts in shallow water consisting of stretching, running, abdominal and muscle toning. This class is not recommended for beginners or those with physical ailments.
