A Passion for Giving Back: Todlin’s Story

Todlin Lattimore was honored at the 2014 Annual Meeting of the YMCA as the Camp Curtin YMCA Youth Volunteer of the Year. She shared the following with YMCA staff:

“I’m a sophomore criminal justice student at North Carolina Agricultural & Technical State University. I was born and raised in Harrisburg and graduated from SciTech where I was a member of The Marching Cougars Bandfront Team. I was a Teen Achiever at the CCYMCA from 9-12th grade and participating in the college tour helped me decide to come to A&T. Last summer I interned with the Sisters Helping Sisters and Man Up programs. I worked with the girls as they learned life skills lessons and participated in Community Service. After college I plan to become a juvenile probation officer and a really big dream of mine is to help make SHS and Man Up a national program. I want to thank Mrs. Kyla for believing and supporting me. I would like to thank My SHS & Man Up leaders Ms. Angel, Mr. AC, Ms. Saun, and Mr. Reese for sharing their knowledge and making sure I got a lot out of my time there. I finally would just like to thank the Camp Curtin YMCA for being a place in a community where we can go and learn and grow as individuals and providing the love and support we often need. Thank You for giving me an opportunity to not only gain experience in my field but to give back to a place that has given me so much.”
